Port of Salalah welcomes first call from Evergreen Line 2014-12-19

The Port of Salalah welcomed the first call from the Evergreen Line on 18th Dec 2014. The 8,452 TEU, M.V. Ever Lively berthedat 0800 and achieved a berth productivity on excess of 150 moves per hour in its 12 hour stay.

Evergreen is the 4th largest ocean carrier in the world headquartered in Luzhu, Taiwan. With more than 190 container vessels and capacity of approximately 850,000 TEUs Evergreen services range from the East Asia to North America/Central America, East Asia to Northern Europe/Mediterranean, and Europe to North America (transatlantic), East Asia to Southern Hemisphere (intercontinental) and Intra-Asia and calling around 240 Ports around the globe.

Port of Salalah operates one of the biggest containers terminal in the region and lines already offer weekly direct services to major destination in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia. The Salalah free zone which is adjacent to the port has already attracted significant foreign direct investments and a number of new projects are expect to commence operation in 2015.
